my work stems from the ultimate question of life: what do we control and what do we accept?

my works are responsive, they are relational reactions – each layer of a painting or a project responds to the previous layer, creating control initiated by unrestraint.

i allow moments of emotional expression to then be tempered by studied precision.

i also love the potential for mystery in words. with just the right selections of syllables, you can bite and sing and yearn.
